Duarte was seen as a future star when he signed for Ajax in 2013 from Heracles, but the midfielder has barely featured, making only 28 appearances over the past two seasons. So far this campaign the 24-year-old has only clocked up 66 minutes of playing time for the first team in the Eredivisie.
However Duarte now gets the chance to get his career back on track with Heerenveen, who needed a midfielder after Daley Sinkgraven completed his move to Ajax.
Heerenveen director Hans Vonk told the clubs official site, “Now Daley Sinkgraven has departed we could use someone in the middle. I think Duarte is a great addition to our selection. ”
Duarte started his career at Sparta Rotterdam before moving to Heracles in 2011.
