Heerenveen have bolstered their attack with the signing of Feyenoord striker Mitchell te Vrede.

cid183661_vrede_580x310The 24-year-old today signed a two-year-contract with Heerenveen, who have the option to extend the deal by a further year. Te Vrede joins as a replacement for the departed Mark Uth.

After swapping Excelsior for Feyenoord in 2012, Te Vrede made 35 league appearances at De Kuip, scoring 15 times. However he was this summer deemed surplus to requirements with Michiel Kramer and Dirk Kuyt signing for Feyenoord.

Feyenoord director Martin van Geel said, “This is a good step for Mitchell,”

“It is important for him that he is going to play a lot of games and he gets that chance at Heerenveen. “
