SC Heerenveen have confirmed the signing of 16 year old defender Vanja Drkusic. He will now go into the juniors’ team having signed a contract till 2018.

The youngster joins from the Slovenian club NK Krsko Novo Mesto where he has been playing for the last two seasons.
The Frisians noticed the youngster while he was representing his country in various youth tournaments.
Hans Vonk who is the manager of football affairs at Heerenveen said this about the defender, “He is an intelligent boy, who is also very fast. He has a lot of game and force; he switches the play forward rapidly. He looks very independent and He is very happy that he is here.”
Drkusic, whose father was a goalkeeper can also play as a midfielder.
