Sam Lammers has been first choice striker at Heerenveen this season but he returns to PSV Eindhoven this summer and a return to Friesland is unlikely, leaving a gap up front at the Abe Lenstra Stadion.
Omroep Gelderland is reporting that Heerenveen are now targeting Ferdy Druijf, who was top scorer in the Keueken Kampioen Divisie this season.
The AZ striker, who spent the second half of the campaign on loan with NEC Nijmegen, has scored 29 goals in the Dutch second division this season.
Heerenveen hope to sign the 21-year-old permanently but it is unclear what AZ plans to do with Druijf this summer.
AZ should try to hold onto him. With him &
Myron Boadu only 18 they have two young talented fwds
It’s not like Johnsen is good anyway, AZ should give their young strikers a chance.
