Heeerenveen’s up and down season continued on Saturday night as they were defeated 1-0 by Heracles in the Abe Lenstra Stadion.

Last week the Frisians held PSV in Eindhoven to a 1-1 draw and they looked to get themselves back into contention for a top ten spot with a win over Heracles.
However, the home side were second best from the beginning and after the half hour mark Javairo Navratil broke through the Heerenveen defence to slot past Erwin Mulder after an excellent through ball from Illias Bel Hassani.
In the second half Heerenveen looked to find an equaliser but Sam Larsson and Marten Thornsby both missed great chances, while Kenny Otigba shot wide from range and Arber Zeneli also went close. At the other end Robin Gosens was denied late on by Mulder as Heracles held on to move sixth in the table.
Heerenveen now languish down in 13th.
