heitinga cHeitinga is yet to feature in the Premier League for Everton this season, and with his contract running out in the summer, a move this January seems likely.

The Dutch defender has told Voetbal International that he is aware of the interest from West Ham United and will make a decision soon, with the transfer window now open.

Heitinga said, “I am flattered with the interest of West Ham. Since this week the market is open and it’s clear that I have to make an important decision.”

Next summers World Cup will also influence Heitinga’s decision, with the player keen to gain first team minutes to force his way into Louis van Gaal’s plans.

The 30-year-old added, “The chance of playing more minutes is the most important. I want to be at the World Cup and to realise that I have to play. Only then I can make it difficult to Louis van Gaal.”
