Fraser stated that he felt his team recovered well after going 1-0 down and that they must take the positives from the defeat.

He said, ”Every time you lose a match it brings a certain disappointment with it. It’s always a shame to lose on penalties.

”We must also take the positives out of the game in the way that we fought back in the game. I cannot blame my players. We prepared well for the Johan Cruyff Schaal and even practised penalties but tonight we also came up against a Feyenoord side that also prepared very well.

”Tonight was a test for us and also a test where a trophy was at stake it is disappointing not to win it but if you look at the way we recovered after going 1-0 down I am satisfied with the way we reacted.

”We must take the positives from this defeat.”
