Cambuur started the game brightly, with Erik Bakker coming close to opening the scoring after only five minutes. As the half wore on Heracles came into the match, with a Bryan Linssen shot, and a Mark jan Fledderus free-kick both coming close to the opener.
Just after the break Heracles were reduced to ten men when Oussama Tannane saw red for his second yellow card of the match.
Despite the disadvantage Heracles came close to breaking the deadlock, with Cambuur keeper Leonard Nienhuis having to be alert to stop Benni Avdic, as the striker raced through on goal.
With the match seemingly heading for a 0-0 draw Michiel Hemmen popped up in the 92nd minute to head in a corner, and hand Cambuur all three points.
Its Cambuur’s first away win since returning to the Eredivisie last season, while its another worrying result for Heracles, who have now lost all three matches.
