Two of the top six met in Almelo on Saturday as Heracles and Utrecht played out a 1-1 draw.

Both sides still have aspirations of reaching the top three, but on evidence of the first half neither side should really trouble AZ or Feyenoord as Heracles and Utrecht played out a tepid 45 minutes. The closest we came to a goal in the first period was a header from Ramon Zomer which came back off the crossbar.
Ten minutes into the second half Heracles took the lead through Jaroslav Navratil, who finished off Robin Gosens pass. However the lead lasted three minutes before Andreas Ludwig equalised after a fine combination with Willem Janssen.
The last twenty minutes saw Utrecht lay siege to Heracles’s goal, but Ruud Boymans saw two glorious chances saved by Bram Castro, while Mark van der Maarel also saw a good opportunity sail wide.
The point sees Utrecht remain fifth, while Heracles sit one point behind them.
