A new look ADO Den Haag lined up in Almelo with seven debutantes managed by new coach Aleksandar Rankovic. They struggled to make an impact in the first-half, which was a rather dull affair.
Four minutes into the second half, it was Heracles who took the lead with their new signing Rai Vloet netting from a corner. Silvester van der Water has been heavily linked with a move to Orlando City, and the winger showed Heracles fans what they would be missing as he fired in the second goal in the 70th minute.
Any chance of an ADO comeback was ended as Boy Kemper saw red with fifteen minutes to go.
