AZ Alkmaar winger Roy Beerens has completed a move to German Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin.

beerens akdnHertha Berlin today announced that they had completed the signing of the 26-year-old winger on a three-year-deal, for an undisclosed fee.

Beerens, a two time Dutch international, started his career with PSV Eindhoven had spells at NEC and Heerenveen before joining AZ Alkmaar in 2011. With AZ Beerens made 134 appearances for the club, scoring 13 goals.

After signing his contract, Beerens told the official Hertha website, “Hertha BSC is a great club with great fans, and Berlin is a very beautiful city. I’m very excited about my time here.”

Beerens becomes the 2nd Dutchman to join the German club this summer after Johnny Heitinga moved to Berlin earlier in the summer.
