According to France Football, Hertha Berlin are interested in signing Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman.

The 29-year-old was told he could leave Marseille last summer but decided to remain and fight for his place. Strootman is still unsure of a spot in the starting eleven and according to France Football, a January exit cannot be ruled out.

Hertha Berlin have recently come under investment and are looking to bolster their squad in January. Strootman is one of the options for the club, coached by Jurgen Klinsmann, along with Lucas Tousart (Olympique Lyon), Julian Weigl (Borussia Dortmund) and Granit Xhaka (Arsenal).

Xhaka is said to be the first priority but Arsenal still need to sanction a loan deal. The midfielder’s move to Berlin may be blocked by the arrival of new Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.
