The Premier League side sacked Jose Mourinho on Thursday and immediately Guus Hiddink’s name was linked with becoming Chelsea’s interim boss until the end of the season, a position he has held before back in 2009.
Speaking to De Telegraaf, Hiddink confirmed that he will hold talks with Chelsea, but he wants to know more about the state of the club before deciding whether to take the job.
He said, “I want to get some good insight before I make my decision.
“I want as much information as possible. Chelsea are in a bad situation and there are reasons for that.
“I want to gain some good insights on that before I make my decision.
“Whether or not I’m visiting their next match depends on my first conversation. Then I’ll decide if I should stay in London longer.”
Reports suggested the 69-year-old was in England on Friday to speak with Chelsea officials in a London hotel, and his decision is expected to be announced soon.
