The 72-year-old began working in China in 2018 and had the task of leading China’s men’s U23 team to the Olympic Games in 2020.
However, the Chinese association is not happy with Hiddink’s work so far and a defeat to Vietnam last week in a friendly was the final straw.
A change of management has now been made with Hao Wei taking over immediately from Hiddink.
