Guus Hiddink has been confirmed as the new head coach of Curacao on a contract until 2022.

The 73-year-old was confirmed on Friday, signing a deal until after the 2022 World Cup as head coach and also technical director.

Hiddink told Fox Sports, “It may not be obvious, but it was difficult to say” no. Curaçao has made good progress in recent years and I would like to help the players and staff to get one step higher on the international ladder.”

The former Netherlands head coach has been out of work since leaving his role in charge of the Chinese Olympic team in 2019.
