After only a month with the club, Keisuke Honda has decided to depart Vitesse Arnhem.

The experienced Japanese midfielder joined Vitesse Arnhem last month after being persuaded by then head coach Leonid Slutsky, who worked with Honda at CSKA Moscow.

However, after Slutsky’s departure, Honda has now decided to also leave Vitesse after only four league appearances.

He told the club’s website, “When I came here, my mission was to change the situation. I didn’t succeed. Leonid Slutskiy left the club. I feel responsible for that. That’s why I don’t think I should play here after the winter. I appreciate that everyone, teammates and supporters, has taken good care of me “
