Morocco have included PSV Eindhoven midfielder and Netherlands youth international Mohammed Ihattaren in their provisional squad for their upcoming friendlies with Burkina Faso and Niger.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder broke into PSV Eindhoven’s first team last season and has remained a part of Mark van Bommel’s selection.

Up until now, Ihattaren has represented the Netherlands at various youth levels but now Morocco are trying to make the youngster switch his allegiance.

New Morocco coach  Vahil Halilhodzic has included Ihattaren in a 48-man provisional squad for their upcoming friendlies with Burkina Faso and Niger next month.

The youngster may not make the final squad, but it is clear he has a choice to make shortly over which country he wants to represent.

Netherlands have already seen the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Oussama Idrissi and Noussair Mazraoui choose the African nation over them. More recently, young Feyenoord talent Orkun Kokcu switched from Netherlands to Turkey.
