Immers only joined Cardiff City on a permanent basis from Feyenoord in the summer after spending the 2015/16 season on loan with the club. However, his contract until 2018 has now been ended a year-and-a-half early after the 30-year-old fell out of coach Neil Warnock’s plans.
Warnock told BBC Wales, “Lex has never occurred in my plans and in fairness he has a lot on his mind, as he welcomes a child. A return to the Netherlands is the best solution for all parties.”
According to Voetbal International there is plenty of interest in the 30-year-old with Club Brugge, Stuttgart and Scottish champions Celtic all battling for Immers signature.
