AZ Alkmaar’s winning streak continued on Saturday evening with a comfortable 3-0 victory over VVV Venlo.

The hosts went into the game on a five game winning streak in all competitions and their confidence was clear from the start.

After only seven minutes it was 1-0 with Guus Til capitalising on an error in the VVV defence before firing a shot high past Lars Unnerstall.

In the 22nd minute, Til won the ball in the VVV half which led to Oussama Idrissi playing in Calvin Stengs and the winger calmly slotted in AZ’s second.

In the second half, Til hit the post before Mats Seuntjens wrapped up the victory with a simple finish from Adam Maher’s pass.

The win means AZ are now two points behind third-placed Feyenoord, while VVV are 7th.
