Jaap Stam has stated his ambition as Reading coach will be to guide the club back to the Premier League.

Reading were relegated from the Premier League in 2013 and have been languishing in the Championship ever since. Speaking to NOS, Stam stated his main focus was to get the club back to the Premier League as soon as possible.
Stam said, “Reading is a great club and a big club too that has a lot of ambition in the last two seasons they have finished 17th & 19th but they have also played Premier League football recently ” .
“We all want to return to the Premier League as quickly as possible but we are also realistic that such a thing does not happen in the blink of an eye “.
“If you look at the names in the Championship Newcastle, Aston Villa, Norwich & Blackburn Rovers it is a competitive league “.
“We want to play 433 which they also play in the Netherlands and we want to play attacking football from all positions. We want to train hard and prepare well so that the players can execute this on the pitch “.
“I believe that if you have experience in football and a certain reputation that the club can expect results and maximum effort by the players and the staff”.
