Daryl Janmaat is now a free agent after agreeing to terminate his contract with Watford.

The 31-year-old still had a contract with the English Championship side until 2022, but both parties have agreed to terminate the contract.

Janmaat is now free to look for a new club and could move to another English side, as they are able to register players until next week.

The Dutch international, who has formerly played for ADO Den Haag, Feyenoord, and Heerenveen, joined Watford in 2016 from Newcastle United.

Speaking to the Waasserman agency website, Janmaat said, “I look back on a great time at Watford, but this was the right decision. I turned 31 years old in July, an age at which you can still continue at the highest level for a number of years.”
