Janssen had gone 23 Premier League appearances and over 780 minutes on the pitch without scoring from open play but he has now ended that drought.

The Dutchman came off the bench in the 87th minute of Spurs tie with Bournemouth and added his side’s fourth goal with a close-range finish in the 92nd minute. It was his second in the league this season, but the other was a penalty against Leicester City.

Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino couldn’t hide his happiness for Janssen after the game, saying, “I’m happy for him. It is important that he feels the joy of a goal.”

Janssen now has six goals and four assists in all competitions for Spurs this season.
