The Premier League club have reportedly made three bids for the striker already this summer with their last totalling close to €18 million, but AZ Alkmaar are sticking to their asking price of €20 million.
After returning to training on Thursday, Janssen spoke to AD and stated his frustration that AZ had rejected Tottenham’s offer with the Dutch international keen to join the London club.
Janssen said,”I have made my decision and told the club about it.
“Tottenham have tabled a pretty high offer in my opinion. There has been an offer in the region of €18million but AZ are not even willing to sit down and talk. I want to start pre-season at another club as soon as possible. This is frustrating.”
AZ director Max Huiberts also spoke to AD and stated the club would only sell Janssen for his market value. He said, “We have done extensive research to approximate the market value of Vincent by people who understand it.
“We have ambition at AZ and want to belong to the top four in the Netherlands. Then it does not help if we sell our players. Vincent signed a contract here a year ago for three years. Basically, we do not want to lose him.”
German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are also interested in Janssen, but the 21-year-old prefers a move to the Premier League.
