Turkish giants Fenerbahce have rescued Vincent Janssen from his Tottenham exile by signing the striker on a season-long loan deal.

The 23-year-old has failed to impress at Tottenham since joining from AZ Alkmaar last summer. Only six goals in 38 appearances has seen him deemed a flop in England and Spurs were hoping to offload him on deadline day last week, but Janssen rejected the chance to join Brighton or West Brom.
The signing of Fernando Llorente meant Janssen was left out of the club’s Champions League squad and he was set to spend the next six months on the bench or in the stand. However, the Turkish transfer window remains open and Fenerbahce have swooped to bring the Dutch international to Turkey on a season-long loan deal.
Janssen will now have the chance to regain form and maintain his place in the Dutch national team. He joins up with fellow Dutchman Robin van Persie at the Istanbul based club.
