The 24-year-old, who spent last season on loan with Reading FC, was once again surplus to requirements at Benfica and the Portuguese giants have allowed the Dutchman to leave again, with Wolves announcing that John will join until next summer.
John told the official Wolves website, “I think I have some unfinished business in this league.
“There’s a lot of passion in this league, it’s an easy decision for me. I played once in this beautiful stadium here (for Reading), it was a difficult game and we lost.
“I’m really happy to be here. It has massive history of course and I think they have to be in the Premier League. I just want to do well. The most important thing is to help the team.
Wolves is the third club that John has been loaned to since joining Benfica from Twente in 2012.
