john benficThe 24-year-old has one year left on his Benfica contract, but has no future with the Portuguese giants and the club are hoping to sell John this summer to avoid him leaving for free next year.

The winger spent time on loan with Reading FC last season and is set to return to England with Record reporting that Wolverhampton Wanderers have begun negotiating a deal with Benfica for the former FC Twente star.

John had been linked with a return to the Netherlands with Ajax or PSV, but those rumours have been mooted.

Benfica paid Twente around €10 million to sign John in 2012, but the one-time Netherlands international has only made 55 league appearances for the club, whilst also spending time on loan with Hamburg.
