AZ Alkmaar manager John van den Brom spoke to NOS and gave his reaction to drawing French giants Lyon in the last 32 of the Europa League.

AZ came from the brink of exiting the competition to finish 2nd in their group behind Russian side Zenit st Petersburg. Their reward is a last 32 tie with Lyon, who dropped out of the Champions League.
After the draw, Van den Brom said, ”Lyon is a team that played in the Champions League and they are also a team that are constantly finishing in and around the top of the French league.
”They are also well known for the physicality that their players possess and how much stamina their team has.
”This is a really tough draw for us .But we knew before the draw that we are in the last 32 of the Europa League so any opponent we will face would be difficult.
”We now have time to prepare for both legs and assess what state we are in February in order to try and get positive results against Lyon”.
