The Australian was signed on a free transfer last summer after Kenneth Vermeer suffered an injury, but Jones made such an impression that he remained number one for the whole campaign.

There were doubts that Jones would remain in Rotterdam past this season, but Feyenoord confirmed on Monday that the 35-year-old has signed a new two-year contract.

Feyenoord director Martin van Geel said on the clubs website, “We are very pleased that we have kept Brad at Feyenoord. He has had a very strong season with a lot of clean sheets and has thus played an important part in the championship.”

Jones only conceded 24 goals in 34 Eredivisie ties.
