The Amsterdam side released a statement on Tuesday morning which announced that Jonk was leaving the club due to long term differences with the technical heart, and members of the board.
Ajax managing director Dolf Collee said, “The problems in and around the technical heart remained, even after many further attempts to get the members together,”
“Edwin van der Sar has been since early September Chairman of the technical heart and he has put a lot of time and energy in this. In the end, we have come to the conclusion that it was not possible to keep all the members on board. ”
Jonk has been back with Ajax since 2007, but stories of a rift with director Marco Overmars surfaced recently after he was not present during the technical heart meetings, which include Overmars, coach Frank de Boer, and Edwin van der Sar.
