Former Arsenal academy manager Andries Jonker believes Wout Weghorst would be a good signing for the Premier League side.

BILD reported last week that Arsenal are interested in signing the Wolfsburg striker for €35 million.

Speaking to BILD, Jonker said, “Weghorst at Arsenal: I can imagine it. He can help the club as a hard worker and goal scorer. I think it is a match.”

Jonker thinks a move to Arsenal would help Weghorst’s hopes of becoming a regular for Netherlands, “It is a big club. You count on that with such a club. He can also increase his status with Orange.”

Although Jonker understands Ronald Koeman’s choices, “National coach Ronald Koeman has found a successful system, so there is no reason to change anything. That is why Weghorst is now having a hard time with the Orange.”
