hoovThe central defender will now travel to the Netherlands in order to thrash out transfer and contract details with FC Groningen ahead of the proposed move. AIK Sporting Director, Bjorn Wesstrom, suggested, via the official website, that both a permeant or loan deal are possible saying “An alternative is to FC Groningen, AIK and Jos reach an agreement on the future, another option is to Jos play in accordance with the agreement we have at AIK.”

The thirty-three-year-old defender is currently valued at around €1.20 million, so it will be interesting to see which option FC Groningen will use to complete any deal. Jos Hooiveld is vastly experienced having made two hundred and fifty appearances enjoying spells at Southampton, Glasgow Celtic, AIK Solna, FC Copenhagen, FC Inter Turku and Heerenveen. He has won the Danish, Finnish and Swedish leagues, along with both the Swedish and Finnish cups, during his career and will look to add to his trophy haul in the Eredivisie should any move be successful.
