Willem II have had a disappointing season so far, but they put in one of their best performances of the season so far on Saturday when they held champions PSV to a 2-2 draw.
After the match Jurgen Streppel said to NOS that the draw was a fair result, ” I would have like to secured all 3 points tonight but I think if you judge the game over 90 minutes that a draw is a fair result”.
”Football is all about moments and I thought that we started the game in a very average way”.PSV created 3 great chances. I thought their first goal was offside. I thought that we improved in the second half and played a lot better and we were more aggressive with our attacks”.
Willem II have made a worrying start to the season amassing only eight points from 13 games and are currently in the relegation zone having only manged to win one game all season. They have started preparation for their last three home games of 2015 against PSV, SC Cambuur and Roda JC with mini training camp in order to improve.
Jurgen Streppel also gave his views on that decision. ”Yes it has become as massive item about the mini training camp”.
”We trained yesterday as usual and then we went to the hotel. It gets blown up by the press and media I have spoken to the players and I have said that we will go to a mini training camp for 3 weeks and see how it goes and the players are ok with that.
”We know that we can play better but it is also about confidence which we showed in the second half against PSV in playing the ball forward. We must dare and continue to dare and luckily that paid off in the second half and once again I believe a 2-2 draw is a fair result”.
