Current Willem II coach Jurgen Streppel has been announced as the new manger of sc Heerenveen on a two year deal from the start of the 2016 / 2017 season.

Foppe de Haan has been a stand-in coach for Heerenveen since Dwight Lodeweges left the club last year, but will step down from his position at the end of this season. On Wednesday, Heerenveen announced that Jurgen Streppel will leave Willem II for the Abe Lenstra Stadion in the summer.
Jurgen Streppel released a statement on the Willem II’s website today stating the following. ” I am really proud of the work that we have done the last five years.
“I will never forget of title winning season winning the Jupiler league and our supporters, but before I leave I will do everything I can to keep this club in the Eredivisie ” .
Current sc Heerenveen techinal manager Hans Vonk also stated his excitement regarding Jurgen Streppel’s impending appointment, “We want to play attractive football in the Abe Lenstra stadium with a clear football vision that fits within our financial possibilties Jurgen Streppel fits the bill perfectly.
” He has plenty of experience and his teams also play attractive football. He also has an eye for making young players better which is something that our club is well known for through the years and this is also what Jurgen Streppel is willing to replicate with sc Heerenveen” .
