Last week Juventus were reported to be in negotiations with Galatasaray over the transfer of Sneijder, who was said to be keen on a return to Italy. However talks were ended when the Turkish club demanded €15 million for the 30-year-old with Juventus looking to pay much less.
Speaking to Sky Sports Italia, Juventus director Beppe Marotta confirmed Sneijder was a target for the Serie A champions, but Galatasaray would not let him leave,
Marotta said, “The winter transfer periods are to repair teams, and we have no need for repair.”
“We will only look at good opportunities. Wesley Sneijder was such an opportunity, but Galatasaray would absolutely not let him go.”
