Ajax have had a difficult start to the season, and Dolberg has failed to net in the club’s four games so far. He was replaced by Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in the starting line-up for Sunday’s tie with Groningen.

Dolberg said, ”Of course we want to play in the same way as last season but is has been a difficult start to the season in comparison to last year.

”We have not had a great start to the season but we just have to keep improving and try and turn things around.

”As a striker you need service. I have heard about second season syndrome but I do not anticipate any problems.

”Of course, I can learn a lot from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar especially about reacting in the 18-yard box as that is his speciality so I look forward to learning about that.”
