A double from Gervane Kastaneer handed ADO Den Haag a shock 2-1 win over Vitesse in Arnhem.

kastaneerVitesse looked unstoppable last week as they tore Willem II apart in a 4-1 victory and Henk Fraser’s side looked on course for another win when Ricky van Wolfswinkel opened the scoring midway through the first half. The striker saw his first effort stopped by goalkeeper Ernestas Setkus but followed up to net on the rebound.

However, on 31 minutes ADO Den Haag leveled when Wilfried Kanon swung in a cross and Kastaneer reacted quicker than Guram Kashia to fire past Eloy Room.

Vitesse went looking for a second after the break but on the counter Kastaneer was sent through one on one with Room and the attacker made no mistake with his finish to put ADO Den Haag in front. The home side couldn’t respond and it was ADO Den Haag who came closest to netting again before the end with Dennis van der Heijden finding the side netting.

Fraser tastes defeat against his former side, who earn their second victory of the season. Vitesse stay on three points.
