Den Bosch v NEC Nijmegen
What a crazy round of matches we had last week. None of the top 6 won, while the three favourites Twente, Go Ahead and Sparta all lost. This meant Den Bosch managed to overtake the Eagles into first with just a draw, which also means they are ten unbeaten. They face NEC who still sit comfortably in mid-half, but could climb up to sixth with three points. This one could go either way, so I’m going to play safe a say a draw. 1-1
FC Eindhoven v Jong Utrecht
That’s now three on the bounce for FC Eindhoven who have impressed in recent weeks. I wouldn’t put it past them getting another here at home to a poor Jong Utrecht side who have only won once since the first week in September. 3-1 | Eindhoven to Win
FC Volendam v FC Twente
Three defeats in four from Twente leaves their supporters thinking and looking at each other like ‘Can things get any worse?’. A 5-2 home defeat to the poorest Jong Ajax side in years is beyond embarrassing, a huge decline from a year ago when they knocked Ajax in the KNVB beker. Despite the problems on the pitch, the loyal fans from Enschede are set to break another record this weekend. 1,400 Tukkers heading to Volendam to support their side, an Eerste Divisie record. 1-2
Go Ahead Eagles v Helmond Sport
Back to back defeats for Go Ahead who again have lost their lead at the top. They somehow still sit 2nd only a point off Den Bosch averaging only 2 points per game. Helmond hadn’t won a game until last week where they hammered Sparta 3-0 so they will be coming here full of confidence. However, I think Go Ahead will win this easily. 2-0 | Go Ahead Clean Sheet
Jong Ajax v TOP Oss
A quality performance from Jong Ajax saw them destroy Twente 5-2 last week. They’ll want to build on that result here against Oss who were beaten 5-0 by Roda. Prior to that hammering, the away side were in good form so I see them putting up a good fight here and potentially coming away with three points. 1-3 | Over 2.5 Goals
RKC Waalwijk v MVV Maastricht
Waalwijk will be disappointed with last weeks result and will hope to set things straight here by defeating MVV who have been playing well recently. I can’t see this one being a high scoring game, therefore, I’m going for a goalless draw. 0-0
Roda JC v Dordrecht
Two wins in two for Roda sees them shoot right back up the table in terms of points heading into the winter break. Six points separate them in seventh and first place, while a victory here could send them into fourth. A very fortunate turnaround due to the top clubs picking up poor results. 2-1 | Roda to Win
Sparta Rotterdam v Almere City
One of the big ones this weekend sees Sparta take on Almere, a game which could be crucial come the end of the season. A win for Sparta will keep them amongst the top three, while separating the gap between the two sides to seven points, which would be hugely damaging to the away side. A win for Almere will squeeze the top six even closer, and make this division even more exciting. 1-0
Monday 10th December (19:00 GMT)
Jong AZ v Telstar
Bit of a boring one here, AZ haven’t won in 11, while Telstar have been poor these last few weeks. You’d expect the away side to take something out of this at least, but I think this is where AZ pick up a win at last and potentially move on a bit. 1-0
Jong PSV v Cambuur
A nice one to finish off the gameweek. Jong PSV are playing great football which has seen them win three from their last four. On the other hand, Cambuur haven’t won in four which plummets them down into the bottom half. I think the home side has what it takes off the side from Leeuwarden. 2-1 | Both Teams To Score
