The 20-year-old stated that he feels settled in Florence and that he must be patient in terms of playing more games for the Serie A side, having only featured in one league game so far.
Diks said, ”I made my debut away at Cagliari and I was happy and then it is just a case of waiting until I was selected again.
”Things are going well here in Italy. Friends and family are only a 2-hour flight away. I feel really settled in Tuscany. Life is different and also in terms of training. I received a specific training programme that I have to follow and we speak about tactics a lot.
”It’s true that I have only played 7 minutes this season for Fiorentina but I also had to be aware in my mind that this is a big step from the sub-top of the Eredivisie to the sub-top of Serie A and there is a big difference. I also knew that I would have to work harder to fit into the squad and be able to contribute so that I was not an outsider.
”I noticed that I have become physically stronger and that is good because Serie A is a physically strong league. Also, I must be more intelligent in terms of run’s made forward and positional play too. I have to be ready to play when called upon.”
