Dutch legend Wim Kieft believes Feyenoord striker Nicolai Jorgensen’s drop in form is due to his move to Newcastle United breaking down in January.

The forward was heavily linked with a move to Newcastle United, but the Premier League side couldn’t match Feyenoord’s asking price. Jorgensen said afterwards that he knew very little about the deal and believed another move would materialise in the summer.
However, since then Jorgensen has failed to net a single goal in seven Eredivisie appearances and the Dane looked out of sorts in the defeat to PSV on Sunday.
After the game, Wim Kieft told Ziggo Sports, “It’s quite a mystery isn’t it.
“That boy has so much for Dutch competition that he does not have to play badly. He is a target man, who you can always fall back on, even if his goal return goes down.
“This simply must be a mental issue”
Jorgensen has scored nine goals in 26 games this season.
