The 18-year-old had an excellent 2017 which saw him break into the Ajax first team and establish himself as one of Netherlands biggest talents.
Speaking to AD about his ambitions for 2018, Kluivert stated that winning the Eredivisie is a must, “That is the most important goal for this year. I really believe in it.”
However, Kluivert has also targeted his debut in Oranje, “I am happy that I have been given the chance lately as left winger. That is really my position. But it will have to be better, I have to make more goals. I am eighteen years old and actually it is only now it begins. Everything is different now. Opponents get to know you and I get double cover. Ah, I see it as a compliment. At the beginning of this season I had a lesser period. Then I thought too much, while I had to play my way. If I keep doing that, I hope to debut this year in Orange. Just like my father, yes.”
Kluivert has scored six goals and added two assists in twenty appearances for Ajax this season. He already has two caps for Netherlands U21’s.
