The Ajax winger replaced Memphis Depay with 17 minutes left of the victory to emulate his father, who also made his Oranje debut at the age of 18.
Speaking to Fox Sports, Kluivert said after the game, “I am very happy with it. I did not count on it so much, but I’m glad the moment has come. Now on to more, hopefully. ”
Kluivert then revealed that he had to make a speech to his teammates after making his debut, “I had to make a small speech myself. It was very nice to experience something so beautiful with my teammates and I would like to do that more often. That will certainly happen if it is up to me. ”
On the moment he found out he was coming on, he said, “At the moment you’re ready to come on, you’ll get a little bit of jitters in your stomach.”
He concluded, “This is the highlight of my career so far. Of course, I am very proud of myself and happy that the trainer gave me the chance. I am now in the father/son club. I have a lot more to prove than my father, but that I have now been allowed to debut is a special moment. “
