The KNVB have taken their time in appointing the successor to Dick Advocaat, who stepped down in November. Ronald Koeman is said to be the favourite with Frank de Boer and Peter Bosz also in the running.
Speaking to ANP, Eric Gudde said, “We want to have a new national team manager in place by the 3rd week of February.
“That way there will be more clarity in the run-up to our friendly match in Amsterdam on 23rd March against England.
“We must have a new manager in place one month before the Friendly against England.
Gudde also elaborated on a potential opponent for their 2nd friendly in Match after the original match against Spain fell through, “After discussions with the Spanish football association we decided to scrap the planned friendly v Spain and we are currently looking for an appropriate replacement.”
