The KNVB are not only looking for a head coach after sacking Danny Blind, but the federation is currently undergoing a complete overhaul with every position in doubt as a new structure of command is formed.
Commercial director of the KNVB, Jean Paul Decossaux has let NOS know that talks with Louis van Gaal over a position have already begun. However, it would not be as head coach but instead as a CEO at the KNVB, overlooking every aspect of Dutch football going forward.
The KNVB are hoping that Van Gaal will accept the position which would come into effect on October 1st and the former national team boss would have a large say in who replaces Blind as head coach of the Netherlands.
Van Gaal was present at Netherlands 2-1 defeat against Italy on Tuesday but said nothing about his talks with the KNVB, only indicating that he was willing to listen to any plan they had.
Netherlands face Morocco on May 31st and the KNVB are hoping to have clarity on all roles by then.
