In the final phase of the match, sixteen-year-old Jorrel Hato was handed his debut as Ajax eased to victory.

AZ Alkmaar eased into the next round with a comfortable win over Excelsior.

Peer Koopmeiners made his first Excelsior appearance against his parent club, while Dani de Wit returned to the AZ line-up.
