The second round of the KNVB Cup got underway on Tuesday with PEC Zwolle and FC Twente reaching the next round in differing manners. Below is a round-up of the action.

Twente 3-0 FC Eindhoven

Managerless FC Twente won their second game in a row after sacking coach Rene Hake. The Enschede side eased to a 3-0 victory over Eerste Divisie side FC Eindhoven.

Tom Boere headed in the opening goal on 28 minutes against his former side before the striker made it 2-0 before the break. In the second half, Twente were awarded a penalty through the video referee, which Adnane Tighadouini netted to seal Twente’s victory and place in the next round.

PEC Zwolle 3-2 Kozakken Boys (AET)

PEC Zwolle needed extra time to beat amateur side Kozakken Boys and reach the third round.

The in-form Eredivisie side took the lead early on through Younes Namli and thought they were in for a comfortable evening, but seven minutes into the second half Ahmed El Azzouti netted an equaliser.

Philippe Sandler fired PEC Zwolle back in front on 77 minutes, but Kozakken Boys forced extra time with a last minute equaliser netted by Gwaeron Stout.

In extra time, Erik Bakker netted a penalty kick to ensure PEC Zwolle reached the next round.
