PSV Eindhoven has made it to the KNVB Cup quarter-finals after a 2-0 victory over Volendam.

Roger Schmidt brought Lars Unnerstall into the starting line-up and the PSV goalkeeper was a busy man in the first-half.

Volendam created several big chances but failed to find a way past Unnerstall, who saved well from Samuele Mulattieri, Boy Deul and Nick Doodeman. PSV only had one big chance in the first-half, but it was wasted by Mauro Junior.

Volendam’s wasteful first-half came back to haunt them as Noni Madueke fired PSV Eindhoven in front after 51 minutes. PSV then sealed the win through a Denzel Dumfries penalty which was awarded for handball.

PSV are safely into the last eight of the cup.
