PSV Eindhoven are through to the KNVB Cup third round after a 2-1 victory over De Graafschap.

PSV took the cup game seriously with Donyell Malen, Mario Gotze and Mohamed Ihattaren all starting the game against the Keuken Kampioen Divisie side.

Ihattaren and Timo Baumgartl went close early on, while De Graafschap thought they had the lead after half-an-hour but the offside flag denied Toine van Huizen.

After 56 minutes, Denzel Dumfries was brought down and Philipp Max made it 1-0 from the penalty spot.

Malen then settled the victory for PSV with a fantastic strike from distance that flew into the net. Milan Hilderink pulled one back, but PSV held on to seal their place in the last 16.
