The two sides met at the weekend in the Eredivisie with Vitesse coming out on top 4-1. However, the hosts had a tough time breaking down VVV in the first-half on Tuesday despite having the lion’s share of the possession.
Early in the second half, Giorgos Giakoumakis messed up a good chance to give VVV the lead as the visitors tried to come into the game more.
Vitesse struggled but in the 75th minute, Armando Broja gave them the lead with a header. Oussama Tannane then sealed their place in the final with a stunning strike from just outside the box that found the top corner.
Vitesse will now face the winner of Wednesday’s clash between Heerenveen and Ajax in the final.
