It seemed Den Bosch were on course for an easy route into the semi-finals with the home side taking a 2-0 lead into the last 10 minutes of the game. Alessio Carlone opened the scoring on 21 minutes after a swift counter attack before Abdelaziz Khalouta doubled the lead before the break.
However, on 82 minutes Tommy Bekooij pulled one back with a scruffy finish from a corner before VVSB stunned the home crowd by equalising seconds later through Tommy Bekooij. Three minutes before the end, Den Bosch goalkeeper Kees Heemskerk dropped a routine cross, allowing Maikey Parami to slot in from close range and send VVSB into the semi-finals.
VVSB join AZ Alkmaar in the semi-finals and become the first amateur side to reach the last four in forty years.
