Netherlands may have missed out on the European Championships but the KNVB see no need to change anything at the top and have renewed Bert van Oostveen’s contract.
Chairman of the board Johan Lokhorst said in a statement, “Of course we looked deep into each other’s eyes after the disappointment of Orange and that played a part in the evaluation of the performance of the board.”
“But the conclusion of the supervisory board is united on this: we are making a rational choice and it is our belief that Van Oostveen is the right man in the right place. As chairman of the board and director professional football. He means a lot to us and the KNVB football.
“Under his leadership, for example, we have finally recovered the football pyramid, creating a natural flow between amateur and professional football. There will be, with EK 2017 (for women) And Euro 2020 (Amsterdam as host city) two wonderful tournaments coming to the Netherlands.”
Van Oostveen has been director since September 2010.
